Most of the crew of that sub looks like they the galley a lot…to the point at which many look obese! Either the cooks are too damn good, or some standards in the navy are running pretty low…

The Cooks should be Fast Tracked to the rank of E – 5 to E -6 because their is few of them and they bust their butts.
It may give incentive for new sailors to become Cooks.
I think the cooks are secretly the smartest guys on the ship. More space than anyone, never on anyone’s bad side (if they’re smart), and in control of so much.

As a chef myself, I would not have recommended that young man put that beautifully slow simmered pulled pork into the stand mixer…. It just destroys the texture, and can turn your meat into mush, ruining what you've just created. THEN AGAIN, I know these young men and women are working like 12 hour days in an oppressively enclosed, SUNLESS space with very little room. In fact, just thinking about it makes my skin crawl, as I'm really clausterphobic. So, go ahead young man!!! You do what you need to do, and get some rest!!! …..and as always, we thank you for your service to our country.
