Hi KC, are you work closely with a group called SCSS Wealth Creators Alliance, the stock learning group?
Your advice has triggered me to restructure my profolio. I am now age 74.,just stop my engineering firm 3 years ago. Then active in stock trading.(not so good). So I think of investing in F&B.. Lately I met a friend of my son who owns 4 cafe and wants to expand some more. I share some of my idea in F&B and he agreed, ie healthy foods, nor meat meal, Indonesia foods which are still new in market. He buys my idea and we decide to work together.. THE ROI is around 2 to 2.5 years. We will raise fund through investors to speed up the expension programme
Mr Lau What is your comment.
Nice! Thanks for breaking it down 👍
Thank for your video. You mentioned selling properties which have low rental yield (RY). How do I calculate RY?
Hi Mr Lau, I learned a lot of practical ideas from you even though I am a Financial Planner. Earlier I worked in a Bank but not using the theory of FP to really plan for people. Now I am a Estate Planner n will start to apply my financial planning tools for my clients. What u do is very honourable and good as most people lacks Financial knowledge. A big salute to you. I pray that God blesses you all the way.
I'm 55 and retired. Sensible advice. Will need to review this video again. Good job. BTW, I'm from your mutual enemy school. 😉 Not sure if they still are after over 30 years now. 🙂
Annoying piano playing, made me stop watching
I have no idea what age to retire, one thing is nothing to do, second is tbh even 1m asset I also doubt I can achieve…
Dear KC: Great sharing experience & tips along with the sprinkles of piano interjection…..pretty cool presentation….Thank you & Cheers!
Another comprehensive video that I regret not having watched much earlier, especially with regards to paying off housing loan vs taking the moratorium.
Great video. Practicing all that have been taught.
Very useful information for me. It is so interesting especially with piano play in.
1. KC – you look amazing at your age (you should do some video on this topic – you may get even more followers!)
2. Shouldn’t retirement be just a state of mind? I am 55 and intends to work (whether that be active employment or running an own gig) as long as health and situation allows and slow or stop when that no longer is feasible (that could be tomorrow or 10 years from now)
I'm going to retire soon at 55 years old. Where can I find fund managers who charge performance-based fees and what is the minimum AUM? Very much interested in it. Thanks again for sharing
KC looks like 30 plus.
Nice sharing! I worked as an engineer, and planned to retire at age 55 to 60 years old. The part I like most from this video is not to use EPF to settle housing loan, as the housing loan has lower interest than EPF for the past many years.
Enjoy and learned alot from your content. Very informative and it helps me to plan ahead my financial journey.
Thanks for the sharing.
Loved your concepts – particularly on having an emergency fund of 2 to 3 years and to replenish your defence fund from time to time. The other point which made a lot of sense was on the fact that it is not a good idea to utilize our EPF to settle our housing loan. Thank You.
I planned to retire at 55, but somehow forced to retire at 51 as early retirement due to company situation. I like to listen to your tips and advice. Basically, i guess i am on right track, Your video kind of a refresher for me at this moment. Of course, I would like to understand more through your new book. Thanks.
Retired soon inOct 2021 at 55 Years; good advice on investing in equity rather than keep in fixed income instruments
Just retired at 60! Much timely food for thought gathered from this video. Have always wondered why even the loan officer advised me not to pay off my housing mortgage….now I get it! Thanks!
I plan to stop active work by age 45. I'm 39 this year. The best advice I learn is to have the 2-3 years of defensive fund for expenses. It saves me from having to worry about where I will get my money from for all my daily and monthly expenses. Thanks for the sharing. ☺️
I hope to retire age 55-60. But I hope to continue doing things that engage your mind and body, so that you don't deteriorate into a cucumber. Thank you for the tips.
There is no retirement age. Just reduce the load of working. Just slowIng down but not Stopping. Keep fit and your engine Running.
There is no retirement age for me as long as I can still continue to serve my clients in a financial services industry.. what I learnt from this video:- why pay off the mortgage loan during retirements years when the Housing Loan interest rate is so low? Use an investment vehicle that can generate better returns than HL rates which can provide me a fixed income/monthly cash flow that will enable me to pay off my monthly housing loans instalment..
EPF gives average 5% dividend every year till age 100. Just draw the dividend every year. Much better than Fixed Deposit 2.4% 12m. I'm 47 planning to retire at age 65. Working shorter hours of course at retirement age. Sometimes a job can keep us alert fit and healthy whereas sedentary lifestyle shorten our lifespan.
A new idea learnt is performance based fees
Age 46, plan to retire at age 55
I'm 27 and planning to retire at 55 or earlier. At the moment I'm having investment in stocks, looking forward to invest in properties in the next 3-5 years. Target is to get around 8k per month from dividends or rental yields to support my retirement. New idea from the video: probably i should buy your book from shopee. 😂
I’m 29 and plan to retire by 40. Always wondered what is the best capital preservation after retirement and thought of having 2 buckets, half in fixed income and half in equities. Planning to live off the interest from fixed income but still investing the other half aggressively in equities like I’m currently doing.
Very useful tips. I will always remember this.
Informative and useful tips on investment options of retired funds. I have just retired at 65 and looking at various options.Additional information on the choices of investment will be helpful.
Love your piano playing. Plan to fully retire by 55 yrs old. Defense fund of 1-2 years expenses.
Me plan to retire tomorrow….means I can tender my resignation any time or work until my company retirement age at 60. I value yr YouTube content on liquidity i.e. Flexible Housing Loan, Credit Cards mainly on using other people money … I will also like other people time on investing in equity and Rental Income and REITs….thanks for sharing yr generous and practical knowledge.
Hi KC, what do you mean when you said return rates drop when we use smaller loans? 11:30
Important to keep invested even in our retirement years else we will outlive our nest egg due to inflation
Tq for the tips on the defence and offence fund. I am same age as you and I plan to retire at the age of 55.
Hi..i plan to retire at the age of 67 another 20 years to go.
Being a proud single mom of 2 children 💪 , i learned alot alot from KC , how to manage and navigate my money. executing one by one whatever i learned. ..tq vm KC 🙏
Nice jazz progression (and money tips of course)! 🙂
I am 32, planning to retire before 40. Learned that I shouldn’t be too conservative in managing my capital after retire. This learning will help me to achieve retirement even earlier than what I’ve planned.
Thanks for the great sharing as always! I plan to retire by 55 and one good point learned is better to get fund managers who charge performance-based fees.
Plan to retire at 60…learnt of the need to have liquidity and at the same time educate yourself on how to choose wisely on what gives you best returns .. thank you for the tips
my planned retirement age is 57. I learnt something new from you today. That's is, there is no rush to pay off mortgage.
